Fay White's new album of songs will be presented with an All-Star Cast in Northcote on
Saturday October 22nd at 7.30 pm.    (After a gap of 15 years it's about time ay!).

Northcote Uniting Church in High St is the venue which will be benignly invaded by a fabulous line-up of musicians, mainly from Central Vic, who will bring their magic to the accompaniments of Fay's songs.
They will also to play songs from their own repertoires in the second half. It will be a real treat - a delicious evening of music. The album is titled “These people, this place: everyday grace” and collects the best of Fay's commissioned works of this past decade, together with a handful of songs never recorded before.  There are 14 tracks.  It has been beautifully recorded by Mark Woods and reflects his capacity to create sparkling audio texture.

Most of the songs have harmonies by Jane Thompson (pictured with Fay above) who also brings a beautiful touch of accordion on "Gundagai Grace". AJ Leonard enhances several tracks with sparkling guitar or bouzouki or ukulele or mandolin and James Rigby provides lovely texture on guitar and mandolin throughout. Andy Rigby plays his own hand-build harp on "Wind Harps of the Wimmera", Bruce Miller backs several tracks with double bass; Jenny Rowlands will make the cello speak and sing on Wind Harps and "Out of the Ashes", and Wendy Rowlands is effortlessly glorious on piano. An added dimension is provided by the Hall family from up near Bendigo who will play Gamelan for the song "You are not my enemy, and a couple of songs are sung a cappella by Fay, Jane, Polly Christie, James & Andy Rigby, Wendy Rowlands  and Terry White  - or some combination of the above. And Mark Woods will be there to make sure the sound is as good as the CD.

For people who have been around these musicians for years it's a great chance for some catch-up and re-unions!  And a good sing. And a bit of heart, hope and humour in the midst of dastardly daily news. Tickets are$15. Book on 03 5461 5471.  All proceeds to the working musicians who feed our spirits. Bring a friend! I
